One of our most technically advanced projects, the London Royal Docks Tower is a 28-storey residential landmark that demanded world-class structural engineering. From early-stage modelling to on-site coordination, Imperium Engineering delivered full services for this vertical feat.
Project Highlights
- Structural framework for 28-storey residential tower
- Advanced wind load analysis and seismic engineering (UK) standards
- Integration of MEP and architectural design services
- Delivered in 10-week design programme
High-Rise Structural Design
Designing a tower is about more than stacking floors. Our engineers developed a high-efficiency tower construction engineering model that included core stabilisation, lateral force resistance, and vertical load management.

We used advanced analysis tools to simulate building sway, settlement, and thermal expansion, ensuring the structure would perform safely and comfortably in all conditions.

Seismic and Wind Load Expertise
Though the UK is not typically known for seismic activity, tall buildings must still be designed with lateral motion in mind. We applied both wind load and seismic criteria to develop a lateral system that included a central reinforced core, shear walls, and moment frames.
Our structural design for tall buildings ensures strength, stiffness, and serviceability under wind and vibration exposure—all while preserving internal layout flexibility for future tenants.
Outcome
This tower now rises proudly over the Royal Docks, marking a new standard in high-rise structural design. At Imperium Engineering, we continue to shape the skyline’s safely, sustainably, and with absolute technical precision.
